Disney inside Disney

 Disney inside Disney

The third Episode of The Silly Symphonies, Springtime, was released on October 24, 1929 and animated by Ub Iwerks, co-creator of Mickey Mouse together with Walt Disney.

Disney and Iwerks in early 20's

Iwerks and Disney met in 1919 and after a while they started working together, Ub joined Walt in 1922 when he started the Laugh-O-Gram cartoon series, and Ub was the chief animator of the studio. After a while the Studio went bankrupt, Disney moved to LA and Iwerks followed him, and they started creating, redesigning, animating new characters, including Mickey Mouse and Clarabelle Cow. The very first Silly Symphonies and Mickey Mouse cartoons were entirely animated by Iwerks and Disney together.

Before leaving Disney, in 1930, Iwerks directed Five Silly Symphonies:

In one of the most famous Disney's Classics, One Hundred and One Dalmatian, 1961, the dalmatian puppies watch Springtime while trapped in Cruella De Vil' Hell Hall with Jasper and Horace.
