We have to go back in 1977 to see Barbra Streisand singing at the Academy Award Ceremony. During that night, March 28, 1977 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion Barbra Straisand won her second Academy Award for Best Original Song with "Evergreen", from the movie A Star is Born. 

She become the first woman winning an Oscar for Best Song as a composer, and she is also the only person  to win an Academy Award for both acting and songwriting.

She was the third woman winning an Oscar for Debut acting  in 1968 (Funny Girl), shared with Katharine Hepburn for The Lion in Winter.

She is a Top Selling Artist with more than 71.5 Million albums sold in the US and more than 140 Million albums sold worldwide.

Barbra Straisand, Frank Sinatra, Cher and Shirley Jones are the only four artists being awarded with an Oscar for Acting and also recording a number-one single in the US chart.

This year on February 24th, after 36 years from her last appearance on the stage performing her song, we'll have the pleasure to see her up on the stage again during the 85th Annual Academy Award. It will probably be a tribute to movie musicals that will also include performances by Norah Jones and Adele performing Skyfall with all the actors that played the role of James Bond.
