Nagra III: the first portable professional sound recorder
Stefan Kudelski
Stefan Kudelski, the Polish inventor of the Nagra III, died today. In 1957 he launched the Nagra III (Nagra means "Will Record"), a real revolution in motion picture sound recorders. He deeply transformed the world of sound recording for motion pictures, radio, and tv.
From the 60's to the 90's filmakers have used the Nagra III and subsequent versions, and thanks to its precision and high-quality Kudelski has been Awarded with Academy Awards of Merit (Scientific or Technical Award).
