Bob Inger, the Disney CEO announced yesterday that Chapter VII is ready to take off. The new movie will be directed by JJ Abrams (Alias, Lost, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol), and scripted by Academy Award winner for Little Miss Sunshine Michael Arndt (Brave, Toy Story 3, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire). In the next few years we'll have also in theatres Chapter VIII and Chapter IX. 

"It’s all in early development right now." Inger said.

The big news is taht probably Lawrence Kasdan (Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back,
Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, The Bodyguard) and
Simon Kinberg (X-Men, Sherlock Holmes) are working on two Star Wars spinoff, and not only on Chapter VIII and IX.
